Employee Health Assessments

Our Employee Health Assessments are designed to keep your team at their best and promote a healthy workforce.

WORKING WELL

Supporting your employees’ health starts with giving them time and space to discuss it. Our GP-led assessments provide a personalised review in a supportive, professional environment, with clear advice about any appropriate next steps.

Our Approach

Our Employee Health Assessments give your team dedicated time with a GP to review their health and discuss any concerns. Each assessment considers the individual’s medical history, lifestyle and relevant risk factors, with examination and investigations where appropriate.

Carefully Selected Tests

Not everyone needs the same tests. Where clinically appropriate, your GP may recommend investigations to explore a particular risk or concern. We explain the purpose, limitations and any additional costs before proceeding. No assessment can identify every health condition or guarantee future good health. Our focus is on providing useful information and clear advice that helps each employee make informed decisions.

Physical and Mental Wellbeing

An assessment also provides an opportunity to discuss stress, mood and other concerns affecting wellbeing. Where further support is needed, your GP can discuss suitable care or referral options.

Clear Next Steps

If an assessment identifies something that needs attention, your GP will explain the findings and discuss appropriate next steps. Further consultations, investigations or treatment may be recommended and may involve additional charges.

Optional Ongoing Support

In addition to any work-related care we provide, your employees are free to continue to access our services as private patients at any time. Further appointments and care are charged separately.

Can your business fund employee health checks tax-free?

Supporting your team’s health may also offer a tax advantage. Certain employer-funded health checks can qualify for an exemption, subject to HMRC’s conditions.

What qualifies, and what’s excluded?

An employer can provide an employee with up to one qualifying health-screening assessment and one qualifying medical check-up per tax year without these being treated as a taxable benefit, provided HMRC’s conditions are met. This tax-free benefit may also apply to company directors who are employees of their business.

HMRC exclusions

The exemption does not cover medical treatment or medical checks connected with treatment. Additional investigations and follow-up care should not automatically be assumed to qualify.

What about family members?

Employer-funded assessments for an employee’s family or household members generally create a taxable benefit for the employee, unless the person receiving the assessment is also an employee of the employer providing it.

Always check with your accountant

Tax treatment depends on the services provided and how the arrangement is structured. Please check with your accountant or tax adviser before treating an assessment as exempt.
