Taxi Driver and HGV Medicals

We're pleased to offer comprehensive medical examinations to ensure you meet the necessary health and safety standards and maintain your taxi or HGV licence.

PROTECT YOUR LIVELIHOOD

Your time is valuable and maintaining your taxi or HGV driving licence is vital to your livelihood. That’s why we offer a fast, efficient, and professional service tailored to your needs. With flexible appointment times that fit around your busy and changing schedule, we'll ensure you receive your medical assessment and required documentation with minimal disruption to your schedule.

What's Involved?

Our taxi and HGV driver medical examination is designed to ensure you are fit to safely operate a taxi or heavy goods vehicle, taking into account both physical and mental health factors. Our experienced doctors will guide you through each step of the process, providing a quick turnaround to keep you on the road without interruption or delay.

Getting your certificate

Once your examination is complete, we'll provide you with a signed medical certificate (D4 form). Your certificate will confirm you meet the necessary health standards to operate a taxi or drive an HGV. It can then be submitted to your local council or licensing authority, as part of your application or renewal process.

Staying safe

As a taxi or HGV driver you're responsible for the safety of your passengers and / or other road users. That's why local councils and the DVLA require that you meet higher medical standards (Group 2) than regular drivers. These higher standards ensure you're physically and mentally fit to handle the demands of driving for extended periods, often in challenging conditions.

Preparing for your appointment

As part of your full medical history review, we’ll need you to provide a copy of your NHS GP medical records in advance of your medical examination with us.
