Contributing to the future of private healthcare

We’re proud to share that Dr Simon Glew has been appointed to the GP Committee of the Independent Doctors Federation (IDrF).

The IDrF is a UK-based professional body that supports consultants and GPs working in private practice. It offers guidance, advocacy and a professional community, playing a vital role in championing excellence and high standards across independent healthcare.

With over 1,600 members, the recent recruitment for new committee members attracted strong interest. A robust and thorough selection process was followed — making Dr Glew’s appointment all the more meaningful. He’s honoured to take on this national role, which reflects The Hove Practice’s ongoing commitment to clinical quality and exceptional patient care.

By engaging with members and promoting a collaborative, learning-led culture, committee members like Dr Glew help build a stronger, more connected community for doctors working outside the NHS.

IDrF committee members shape the strategic direction of independent healthcare in the UK. They influence policy, guide senior leadership, and ensure the Federation delivers meaningful, high-quality support to its members. Their responsibilities include championing independent practitioners, supporting education and professional development, and making sure the organisation remains compliant, transparent and forward-thinking.

If you’d like to find out more about the IDrF, you can visit their website www.idrf.co.uk.
